I finally found a wee bag for my MyStim that does not offend my style sensibilities. Not that I actually have "style sensibilities." And, frankly, I'm not exactly sure what it would mean if I did. All I know is that the little pouches Medtronic gives out make me think of fanny packs and orthopedic shoes. I'm not yet ready for either.
For awhile, I was putting MyStim in my handbag without a protective case but I've since decided that's a very poor idea. The copious amounts of sand, dirty coins and questionable detritus residing in my summer bag persuaded me.
Anyway, DH and I were at JCrew last night and I came across this little ditty for $6.47. It's a good size and it fits MyStim and the antenna (whereas the Medtronic pouch does not. Seriously, who designs those things?!) . It's also pink inside...which is incredibly important and will most assuredly have a positive impact on how well my stimulator functions...

OH! I love it! I have to find one myself! Great find :)
Awesome!
I had to get a pouch too...mine is light blue with brown circles on it. Unfortunately, because I take the thing EVERYWHERE with me, I've learned quickly that light blue is not a good color for staying nice and looking clean.
I too seriously wonder who designs the Medtronic stuff. First of all, why on earth does the remote control have to be so big??? It's bigger than a cell phone! Secondly, if it's a remote control, why do I still have to hold it (or the antenna) over my implant??? And thirdly, I can't believe no one could come up with a better carrying case for the thing.
I guess they must have a bunch of geeky scientist working for them that can make really cool stuff but have zero concept of functionality or fasion!
I am going for my test stimulator on Aug 21st. Should I be on a look out then for some pouch to put it in? All I know that the company that is making mine is ANS. The only reason that I know that is long story short the rep never showed up last Friday for my orginal test trail date. I came across your sight and it has been so helpful.
Hi Sue! Welcome to the site. When I had my trial, my Medtronic Rep. gave me a little belt with a holder for the remote. While you are having a trial with ANS, I am certain ANS will have something similar. Just ask the rep. when you have your trial. That way, you can hold off on buying something until you have the perm. implant, if that's the way you decide to go.
I'm so glad I can be of help to you. Please, please ask any other questions if you have them, ok??
Best,
Danimal
Banner: your little pouch sounds very cute! We just can't expect to have these things but throw fashion out the window, right?!!
I was actually pretty impressed with the case for my stimulator (another brand). It's black leather with a velcro flip open top and has a clip on the back. I clip it onto my purse or on my jeans pocket - very convenient, and not too tacky.
Whoa Seernisse..your case sounds quite spiffy. What type of Stim. do you have? Boston Scientific??
Yep, it's Boston Scientific. That was my doctor's preferred scs though he also does others. I'm getting accustomed to having the remote as an extension of myself. My friends all look to see if I have it with me. They are so fascinated and curious. I spent quite a bit of time on Monday with my rep talking about the engineering of the system after a reprogramming session. Some of it was over my head, but still incredibly interesting!
Hi
I have the myStim 37743 remote, but it did come with a designed black zipped case from Medtronic.
Banner, why the remote connection has to be placed over the battery, this should have been explained to you by the surgeon.
Jeff 4+ years with stimulation (or not!)
